RCxRules has made our coders 33% more productive. Prior to RCxRules, we needed 1 coder for every 8 providers to ensure clean claims and compliance. RCx allows our Certified Professional Coders to perform audits, coding and documentation review rather than data entry of charges.
Can you describe what the return on investment has been through the use of RCxRules?
We were already performing well in terms of time to payment (insurance). We had been collecting 80 – 85% of payments within 30 days of the patient visit. Thanks to RCxRules internalizing the majority of our billing/coding knowledge and preventing any human/clerical errors, we have been able to increase the speed with which we get claims to payers, while at the same time producing cleaner claims thus reducing the reasons that payers can deny. We are now operating at 90 – 95% of payments collected within 0-30 days. Additionally, we have reduced all coding/charge related denials (ie: Non-Demographic or eligibility) by about 50% across the board, which saves us a lot of work in the A/R queues.
Is there anything else you would tell a prospective customer of RCxRules?
We are big advocates of RCxRules, and consider it to be one of the best technological investments we have made. It is one of those rare instances where the product turned out to be even more powerful than we had been anticipating during the sales process.
